  • Is he that hard to get going that she needs to constantly kick him? Just curious.

  • Did you read the description on the video? This is a young newer rider on him that is certainly working on her riding skills.Obviously it doesn't have an effect on "getting him going" as he never takes off with her & she isn't holding him back :) Chief will not react to this misdirection nor should he. That is how newer riders & children often get hurt.If you watch his other video you will never notice him cued at a walk or a trot & he neck reins(which she doesn't understand either).

    Best, HLR

  • ok, it was just an honest question no need to get your pants in a bunch. I have trained several horses and i am working on my 5 year old Quarter Horse now. I know how difficult it can be. Believe me. I was not making fun of her or anything like that. I was just curious. And yes i did read that she was a beginner. I know what its like to be a beginner as do we all. It was just a question. Chief is gorgeous by the way!

  • No problem....I didn't mean to come off as upset. :) I guess I assumed you didn't understand that is not how you get a horse (trained horse) moving since you asked if he is "that hard to get going". I just didn't understand where the question was coming from except that perhaps you were newer to horses and possibly YouTube & didn't understand how to read the video descripts or why that wouldn't be a proper way to move a horse forward. I was genuinely trying to be helpful.Sorry! All the best!!

  • Nice horse, feel sorry for him tho with the way her legs are flailing about, but at least it doesn't bother him.

  • Yes, she is a young student who I would imagine could certainly be annoying to most any horse. Of course, her little legs don't hurt Chief, but it surely shows his wonderful temperment and tolerance level. He is an incredible confidence builder and super easy going!

    Thanks for looking :)

  • This horse is absolutely gorgeous. I'm selling my horse this weekend, and boy, if I had money to keep another one...

  • Very beautiful animal. You all do a very fine job. Chief reminds me so much of our gelding who passed a couple years ago. Nothing bothered him, great comical personality and he loved the kids! Sure do miss him. Thank you for sharing these videos.

  • I always love watching your videos! You do such a great job with desensitizing your horses. I have actually stolen some of your ideas and used them on my own horses! I wish I could figure out how to make that darn barrel thing they push!:) Good job and nice horse!

  • Yes, he could certainly be a fantastic jumper I am sure. Thanks for looking!
