5th November 2008, PACE Studio 1, De Montfort University, Leicester, UK.

The Dirty Electronics Ensemble directed by John Richards and Simon Emmerson perform a special version Kurzwellen - Kurzwellen mit Stockhausen. The piece was realized through a unique collaboration with Rolf Gehlhaar who worked closely with Stockhausen between 1967 and 1971, and who was part of Stockhausen¹s original ensemble who premiered Kurzwellen in 1968. DIY electronics, laptops and turntables intertwine and coalesce in a twenty-first century interpretation of Stockhausen.

The ensemble also performed as part of the Klang Festival, a celebration of Stockhausen's music at the Southbank Centre, London.

  • @ReinholdOtto I agree with that. You can clearly hear the boys choir among other sounds found in Gesang der Junglinge.

  • The "shortwave" pieces seem to be actually snippets of "Gesang der Jünglinge".
