I think the stitching process should have been demonstrated for clarity. It's really simple once you understand it, but not necessarily obvious looking at the completed stitches. It's a ladder stitch. It's like a running stitch, but the stitches alternate between the background and the applique. The "rungs" of the ladders go straight across, back and forth.
Would be nice to see a few stitches taken. I know what you are doing, but many others tuning in will have difficulty figuring out the ladder stitch!
