the T5 is an electric/acoustic that defines the hybrid category. The versatile T5 is the top-selling semi-hollow body guitar and the only one that uses all-magnetic pickups for both its electric and acoustic tones. That means real acoustic tones, real electric tones, and everything in between. The T5 also features proprietary Taylor pickups, 5-Way switch, and Taylor T-Lock™ neck joint.

  • so these use acoustic or electric strings??

  • @geet25

T5's are shipped from the factory with Medium Gauge (.011-.049) Electric Nanoweb® Coated Elixir® Strings (light-gauge acoustic optional)

  • What pedals/ amps are you using??

  • an Egnator head and cab and a Vox with a basic pedal set up; chorus, overdrive, delay, volume control, wah.

  • can you get a pedal which adds the heavy electric sound to an acoustic amp? if so what one would you recommend?

(I know the sound won't be as good but I'm trying to conserve the price)

  • I have a T5 C2 but I primarily use it for my acoustic tones and run it through a Fishman Loudbox. When gigging a lot it sure makes it easier on you then playing a regular acoustic. It is a fantastic guitar, you will not regret getting one of these.

  • wow this exactly wat I need!

  • does this guitar need an amplifier????

  • Very nice.. i like it more than Ibanez Montage..

  • Cant u use it in stereo? An acoustic amp and an electric guitar amp? This should sound AWESOME. The distortion sounds a lot better than expected but stereo chorus with an acoustic amp and an electric would be just....SO AWESOME.

  • i use my t5 koa thru a aer amp or my marshall,electric strings on it,sounds fantastic,elixir.

  • I also have a Koa T5. When I have it plugged in and on position one I get loads of string noise when changing chords. Do you find that? I use acoustic elixir lights on it, do you think their electric strings would be better?
