@jerseyirish When Obama became President racism increased exponentially. Racism is today is at the same level it was during the time of the Rosewood massacre. If you don't believe me just look at the comments all over the Internet. Ex. A 16 year black cheerleader, collapsed a died during a game. The cause had something to do heart failure. Racist crackers were saying things like: I bet she was drugs, wait til the autopsy, you know how the niggras are. These people are not playing with us.

@request2000 I never read that book but Im sure I would agree with you if that's the case. I can see 'Girl 6' being a negative stereotype of the Black American female even though I admit I did enjoy the film overall as I do most of his films. Lee's negative stereotypes of Italian-Americans are pretty strong too (Summer of Sam, Jungle Fever, Do the Right Thing). That said, I have read some of Dr. Dyson and Dr. West's works as well so I am familiar with where you're coming from. Peace †

Respond to this video... I don't hold Dr. Marable in a high esteem either. I bought one of his books "How Capitalism Underdeveloped Black America". But in this very same book he endorses homosexuality. Now what does homosexuality have to do with the subject of the book? The "Miseducated" Blacks haven't changed anything for us. Just enriched a few quislings, while the masses languish. Shalom

@jerseyirish So what you're saying is the Educated Mr Lee, who set the table of succulent food before the children, has no blame in the matter when the children take the bait. No brother I'm not radical, just keeping it real. What was Spike Lee's quote on the matter of Air Jordans: "Instead of blaming the manufactures of apparel, deal with the conditions that make a "kid" put so much importance on sneakers, jacket or gold". Even though he entices those very same "kids" to want.

@request2000 You're on some radical left-wing rant right now. I respect how you feel sir but I think you should start blaming the actual triggermen on the street instead of Mr. Lee and Mr. Singleton. Lee' s MX wasn't 100% accurate but according to Dr. Marable's 'A Life of Reinvention' maybe its better that it wasn't if you know what I mean (certain claims in Alex Haley's autobiography are questionable) . That being said I see some truth in what you say nonetheless especially Girl 6. Peace.
