Everyone criticized Daniel Craig before he became James Bond and he ehded up being really good in the role. Let's hope Matt Smith does the Doctor justice.

i'm gonna give him a chance, and he's probably getting an earful off everybody for being the 11th doctor, but it is a massive role to take on and i don't think anyone's gonna top david tennant as the doctor.

I feel a bit sorry for him that he's getting loads of critisisms. D.T's is an act that ANYONE would find hard to follow. I cannot imagine Dr Who without D.T, but I think Matt Smith deserves a chance. I so hope he's amazing.

Oh I'm gonna miss Tennant so much! Cant wait till the xmas specials! (though I live in NZ so who knows when we're gonna get them!) But alot of thought would of gone into this descision, and he must be something special, though the scripts will be so good (Steven Moffat was deffinantly the best take over from RTD) that any one will be able to pull 'em off. I have faith in the new series!
