Talk about a sweet raccoon!!! This mum of 5 lived in our chimney. She was looking disheveled one day so out of pity, my roomie gave her some croutons. Every now and then she'd swing by. In her life, she never became dependent on our once in a while feedings. We just helped her out when she was nursing. She didn't bring any other big raccoons. She lived in our chimney for many years and had a few litters. She's not rabid (for the blind). Please save the lectures on wild animals for someone else. We did not cripple her fear of people or her ability to hunt. She lived for a long time after and so did her kids, who left home quite quickly...all healthy, fiesty and intelligent. Sweet Pea was loved by all our neighbours and lived well into old age. She's not a pet, nor do I recommend this. Any of the finger wagging comments will be deleted immediately. For the rest, please enjoy : ). Honest q's are more than welcome.

  • that's very rare that something like ever happen. raccoons are normally very food aggresive and territorial.

  • @TheRunnerShow I couldn't agree with you more!!!

  • I have a little one outside that likes to visit. After 3 days, he was sitting on my lap and eating oreos. If you don't do anything to scare them or hurt them, they will not hurt you. They are the sweetest animals ever and very playful.

  • @crackerwv Awwwwwww eatin oreos!! How cute!

  • That is so cool that goes to show the racoons are intellgent and can adept to life with people

  • IM IN LOVE WITH THIS she LOOOVVVEEESSS galric crutons LOL

  • I'm skeptic if this is correct. I've never read anything about onions being harmful to raccoons. There are many kinds of food like raisins which are poisonous to dogs and other animals but not to raccoons who are omnivors like humans. On the other hand, one shouldn't feed them cat food in large quantities over a long period of time (according to raccoon expert MD Bernhard Böer) and marshmallows are bad for their teeth. You could try grapes, bananas and dog food. Almost all raccoons like these.
