Two hornpipes in 3/2 time, both from John Offord's splendid book 'John of the Green, the Cheshire way'. As well as in tunes played by 'folk musicians', trained performers and composers (such as Handel) used the 3/2 time signature in their works. Both of these tunes tend towards the baroque/classical (rather than folk) genre,
.................but I still enjoy playing them & love their titles!

  • Thanks. the fiddle was made by Tim Phillips (search Tim's violins - don't seem to be able to enter his web address here). He does a lot of different styles - that one is one of his early 'Infidels'. had it several years now - very nice rich tone. The shape is not entirely original - I believe Stradivari made a few without 'corners'.
