well if ther first order of the es44ac is 8000-8023 then they are buying these and replacing the c 30-7 because the numbers on then are 8003-8082 ge replace ge's

I'm willing to bet that someone who works for BNSF or UP talked NS into ordering these. I mean, NS NEVER goes this far! I love the way these new ES44ACs look in NS paint, I just think that it's a shame that they're keeping them for the Pokey District and mountain lines exclusively. I think what NS should do is order more so the numbers on the units go from 8000-8099 and then another order from 500-700. That way they could run all over the system. I can picture these on the Norfolk District now!
