  • This a beautiful movement, and the highlight, for me, of one of the great pieces of the last century. The whole "abstract noise" argument doesn't resonate with me here.

  • Not quite as bad as the other movements, but that's not saying much.

  • He does seem to have a funny combination of erratic or very complex stuff going on, along with a lyricism that comes through for me.....

  • I was looking at Metric Modulation on Wikipedia and discovered Elliot Carter, how could I call myself a musician without ever hearing of him. I like this guy's style of composing, the rhythm is erratic, along with note choices, yet it's pleasing to the ear.
