where it usually says the song name before you start playing.

Yeah .. it's just a custom song. Guitar Hero 2 can be modified to have any song put on it, at least on the PS2.
The audio sounds weird because the song isn't from a CD or anything like that, it's from a tv show performance and isn't that great. So, it makes the incorrect notes sound out of place.

so, by fake, do you mean it isn't in the actual game and it's a custom song,
or do you think there is a song in the real game that has those exact notes and i just played the song over it?
