DOPESHEET
Stephane Rolland was the guest member to be invited to unveil his collection at the fashion show on the 30th June. The designer imagined for his new collection a feminine and elegant woman wearing black and white dresses. He played with shadows and light, favouring contrasts and proposing new volumes. His chic jumpsuit did not go a miss. This masterful display by Stephane Rolland demonstrated that thanks to his years of experience in the Jean-Louis Scherrer fashion house, he has mastered his art.
INTERVIEW (in french) Stephane Rolland, designer
It's a collection that was inspired by modern art, but not exclusively, it's also almost a homage to photographers, to cameramen because everything is worked on the volumes, shadows and light, there isn't any colour, everything is in black and white. This gives my clients free choice to choose what colour dresses they want to wear because it's basic work, it's a base, a data base, not a data bank. Each dress is almost a blank canvas on which you can express yourself. There is a real richness because the embroidery isn't gratuitous, it's there to punctuate the light, to emphasise curves, it's essential. I imitated fur with the embroidery, that is to say that I used a hedgehog effect, fur effect, but all in jet and diamond.
