This was one of my earliest jazz albums. I'm basically a rocker and was into Jimi Hendrix a lot. I read everything I could about him and he mentioned Roland Kirk often. I later understood that they were friends. Maybe as a play on this or a pun, Jaki Byard, one of Kirk's pianists and a prolific player himself, released and album entitled 'The Jaki Byard Experience'. Byard is on Kirk's 'Rip, Rig and Panic' album, maybe Kirk's most experimental.

this live take is great... I'm embarrassed to say that after years and years of enjoying jazz I have first discovered this song. I saw him years back, but really didn't know what I was seeing. I've owned a few of his albums for years, but just recently have grown to appreciate his amazing talent. One of a kind and definitely one of the greatest to pick up a horn...

Thank you so much for sharing this incredible track!! JL
I heard this for the first time last night and I was so freaked out by it.
For like an hour and a half I was just so blown away that I could barely function.
Thank God Almighty for music this powerful.
This is the truth.

Dizzy how would you like to have grown up as a kid listening to this. I was in 5th grade when this came out. I heard it on the radio and my mom thought I was crazy. Because I liked it.
