Well, this was actually posted to explain to someone how to make a stressed skin panel. Basically you have a sort of "square honeycomb" structure sandwitched between two flat panels. The honeycomb is usually glued "edge on" to the panels. This creates a very strong, but lightweight structure. It is often used in furniture construction.

Actually, this was put up as a sort of "visual explanation" for someone who didn't know what a stressed skin panel was, or how they are constructed. So it serves it' purpose.
