On the last chord, the 32' Bassoon is pulled. I love using that stop with all the slush. A 32' Sordun would have been better, but I use what's to my disposal. Oddly enough, in the revoicing of this organ over the summer of 2008, it seems as though this stop was brought out a little more and the 32' Bombarde was pulled back some.......???!!, and it sounds louder probably because of the small microphone on my camera.

  • Love those Walker strings!

I'd like to visit this church. Mark,

can you tell me the name of the church?

    (I won't be a pest(!))

    Thanks.

  • @george346 I don't know how I missed your comment/question of one year ago, so I apologize to you as I certainly wasn't ignoring you. Don't forget the Walker strings are actually Aeolian-Skinner strings as that's the only organs they sample from. The church is Saints Peter and Paul (Catholic) in Winter Park, Florida which is a city next door to Orlando (Disney World), and you're not nor never will be a pest. Again, I'm so sorry for the much delayed response to you.

    Regards,

    Mark

  • Wow is right, I thought you had a teacher all this time and read music easy, self taught, impressive!

This one gets the 5 stars Mark :)

  • Thanks........

  • Another beautiful example of the wonderful gift you've been given. This is less an organ piece than it is a solemn prayer. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thank you.........

  • mierda....musica de ultratumba

  • Self taught? WOW. You are blessed with an amazing gift then. And I just found your Hyfrydol. Just what I was looking for! (it is my favorite hymn tune). Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us.

  • @rsmorganjr Thanks, I ALWAYS try to respond to requests, but the problem is that I'm self taught and don't read music (Treble clef only) so generally I have to hear the requested hymn first to see if I even know it. It's always much easier for me if I not only know it, but LIKE it as well which makes it easier for me to play. I already have 'Hyfrydol' posted and I do give it the 'treatment' on the last stanza. Thanks for your most kind comments.

  • Great meditative video. Love the opening tones of "Eternal Father" and really like the strong low note ending.

Not that you are under any obligation to respond to requests, but, if you have time and are of the inclination, your talent is such that I'd love to see you do a rendition of the Hyfrydol hymn tune where you really give it "the business" in the last verse!
