BE BOP A LULA (2) - THE SHADOOGIES - (GENE VINCENT)

Gene Vincent scoorde met Be bop a Lula in 1957 een grandioze wereldhit. De tekst van het nummer was riskant en de moraalridders hadden zeer veel kritiek.Hij zingt oa over de juffrouw die roept " meer meer meer" en dit in de jaren 50.
Voor real rock 'n roll piano moet je inderdaad bij Marc Deno zijn.De drums zijn vergelijkbaar met het origineel van de The Blue Caps, de fantastische band van Gene Vincent. Eugeen speelt ook een zeer specifieke baspartij.
Hier ziet U The Shadoogies in Aarsele, Belgie op 12 Oktober 2008 ter gelegenheid van de Opendeurdag van de Brandweer Aarsele.

Dear Silvia,

Thanks for the comment from me and Greta.

All those rock 'n roll numbers I played allready in 1964-1965 when I was in the Belgium Army in Spich, Germany.There I had a rock band of 6 or 7 musicians and we toured the Belgium Army stations of Germany.

I don't know where you live but I was stationed in Spich during one whole year.

The army station is now broken down and doesn't exist anymore.

We keep on posting, I have very much fresh material on hand.
