  • Why does the candle thing burn out if theres so much oxygen?

  • the glowing wood splint relights when placed in test tube of oxygen - when the oxygen has run out inside the test tube, the fire is extinguished also because CO2 has taken over (as a product of wood burning) and we know that CO2 is used to extinguish fire. Does this help?

  • amazing that two highly flammable gases combined puts out fires.

  • Ugh I was going to do this to show the opposite of Dalton's combination experiment as a group project, but one of the electrodes are missing from my school's apparatus. And unfortunately, platinum is worth twice more than gold, so I'm not getting another one any time soon.
