http://www.visualsound.net/index.php/store For all those who have longed for that "ampy" sounding overdrive... look no further! The all new Open Road from Visual Sound is just what you've been waiting for... Hop on... the ride of your life awaits you!

You like the great sound of those classic TS circuits, but you want a more open sounding, amp-like overdrive with less dominant mid-range? Open Road is the overdrive youve been searching for. Finally, an overdrive pedal that delivers grind and girth. Clear low end, sparkling highs, and none of the mid-range hump found in most other dirt boxes. Play a six string chord and all the notes ring through. Play a single note line and it sizzles, punch a power chord and it grinds.

Open Road features a very interactive tone circuit, effecting not only high-end roll-off, but gain structure as well. At any setting, at any volume, Open Road produces organic amp-like tones that might cause you to leave it on all the time.

  • Okay here is the ultimate thing that Visual sound could do. Seeing that most everything they have comes in the same box...why not be able to custom order what you want and then they just put the guts into an enclosure. That way everyone could get what they want and you pay a little more for Visual sound to do it but it doesn't cost them much more to come up with a new enclosure.

  • Okay... this is a good one. If it was this easy we'd do it. But it's not that simple. But I will give a preliminary announcement here.... VISUAL SOUND IS ABOUT TO LAUNCH A WHOLE NEW LINE OF PEDALS AT WINTER NAMM. THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE IN LATE FEBRUARY OR BEGINNING OF MARCH. THEY WILL COST BETWEEN $4O AND $60 AND SOUND AMAZING. ALL "NEW" PEDALS... AND BY THE WAY, THEY LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE V2 PEDALS.

  • is this a ts9 clone and the route is a ts808 clone????????????

  • Neither... it's it's own unique thing.

  • This is a fantastic pedal. So clear, no mud. I'm definately gonna get one of these. Another thing. The tone knob is actually useful. Most drive pedals are too bright past 2 o'clock and to dull below 10. Props to VS. Some people compare this to the tubescreamer, and don't get me wrong I use the tubescreamer more than anything on my board right now. It has a cool compressed sound and a lot of mids. This has no mids above unity and is clear as an Appalachian stream. It is a whole different animal.

  • I brought an H2O and a Route 66 from New York, and now I keep wanting an Open Road and a Jekyll and Hyde. Too bad I gotta import them now. You can't get enough of these.

  • Ladies and gentlemen, the only pedal that requires neither the input or output to be plugged in order to work!

    Seriously, sounds awesome.

  • @bikerpastor71 i agree that would be cool! they would make more doh, ppl would think of unique stuff i bet

  • nice pedal...but in my country is so expansive..the price is RM690 huhuhuhuhu

  • @VisualSoundUSA Yeah and they are called GarageTone

  • Dude I was thinking the same thing!!

  • I like these sound samples. What do you guys think though, would it sound awful if I'd try to spice up the crystal clean tone of a Roland JC?

  • visual sound should definetly looking into combining the open road and their compressor. i like this od a lot more than the route 808 drive, but i'm pretty strapped for cash and need a compressor as well without shelling out $100 for each. and i've got a feeling i'm not the only one. for now, i think i'll save up for the route 66, but i think an Open/66 combo would be just as popular as a route 66 (or more)
