Instead of replacing all HST's which have the valenta engine with the mtu, they should leave one for preservation still with the valenta engine and build another one with the MTU engine

they were gonna rengine all hsts with vp185s but alstoms aftercare support was shite

I used to stand on platform 4 at reading station with my dad. I loved when they used to run slam door stock from 4a and 4b.

if you wanna hear more valentas go look at grand central. they are the only ones left with valenta engines. oh and the New Mesuerment train aswell wich can go past at random times at random places

Oh you have no clue how much i do. Unfortunately im 4218 miles away in the United States. I will definetly try to make my way over again when the 125 group gets a set restored one day. Till then EMD 645's will have to do!

no what i meant was next time you visit have a look at grand central. FGW are all MTU'd

Yes, i believe everything but GC, one EMT powercar and the NMT are now either MTU or VP185. GC i heard is going to get new trains in 2010, so most likely my next Valenta will be in preservation :(
