Back to back perfect races with Waterball...his drug-induced trance was keeping him ahead, but I had the last laugh. Frozenvapor had fallen asleep after eating a chicken caesar wrap, so his performance was pretty amazing...all things considered.
I have a pretty cheap capture device called a Dazzle DVC100. I capture the video in the highest quality AVI format possible with the highest resolution. These files are really large, so when I'm ready to make my movie I compress it to the highest quality wmv format option...640x480 1943Kbits/sec 29.97 frames/sec. This 7 minute video ended up being 150mb.
I'm doing something wrong. I have DVC100 too, but never could make quality like this, watch my GTA4 vids to see. The interesting thing, i can capture with only 320x240 in Movie Maker, otherwise the framerate falls. I render complete video in Sony Vegas, avi, xvid best quality. The files can be 250, 500 or 1000mb, but they still all look much worse, than yours.
I couldn't get Movie Maker to recognize the DVC100. This a problem specific to Vista. I don't think Vista's version of Movie Maker can recognize USB capture devices. Therefore I've been using the software provided with my Dazzle (Studio QS), which lets me capture at 720x480 and 29.97 frames per sec. Once captured I can edit the raw footage with Studio QS or Movie Maker...I've been using Studio and when I make my movie select the highest quality Windows Media option available.
Yeah. But it doesn't work well for me. Don't know why. There're problems with framerate and aspect ratio. I've tried about 20 different capture programs, but none of them works well. Maybe i should check Studio QS settings once again.
It didn't work on my laptop a couple years ago...I just recently realized I still had the thing and tried it on my newer computer and presto...works perfectly. In retrospect I think it was because my laptop didn't have enough RAM to capture streaming video at 640x480 and 30fps. I kind of gave up at the time because I had no idea if it was a software or hardware issue.
How do you get video quality like this?

Basically you really need to figure out how to capture at a higher resolution...did Studio QS come with your DVC100?
