Very simple tutorial for how to clean an airfilter. This video specifically targets all years CRF230F and CRF150F, and '96 and later XR400R and XR250R. I will be making more tutorials. I will even get into the more complicated stuff. It'll be like a video service manual. I'll always include torque values and stuff when needed.
I'll definitely be doing:
How to take apart forks and change fork seals
How to change oil
How to grease steering stem bearings
How to grease linkage bearings
How to take apart the carburetor (and how to re-jet)
How to install a new piston, cam, all that good stuff

I'll do lots of stuff as I get time to do it :)

  • Oh and also there was a few specs of dirt in the backfire screen and I could not get them out, is that going to be a problem? I just rode today and it worked fine.

  • @Gman200108 I've never seen a bike that didn't have dirt in the backfire screen. Truth! It shouldn't be any problem, but if it bothers you then you can take the carb off and blow that stuff out of the backfire screen with compressed air.

  • I recently got a 2006 CRF150F and I just changed the air filter 2 days ago. The previous owner put WAY to much oil on it and the whole inside of the airbox was coated in oily mud and shit. Took a while to clean but I got a new filter, oiled it up nicely, cleaned the airbox, and put it in and it runs 2x better now. My next small project is to change the oil and the sparkplug haha.

  • @Gman200108 Sweet lol. Most bikes that don't run correctly just need a good cleaning of the entire intake side, then they run just dandy. That has been my experience lol and I've seen a lot.

  • clean the air filter in 93 oct gasoline works better

  • @rdalton5256 If you're in a hurry, use gas. If not, stick with water. I have seen filters become brittle and start falling apart from the owners using gas on them.
