In Dec 2006 I was homeless, jobless and penniless. My friends, Sandi and Tony invited me to stay with them until I could get on my feet again. I wrote in my journal New Years Eve 2006, to "be on Oprah". During the next year I participated in the Oprah Book Club reading all the books and answering the questions from the Oprah website on-line including "What question would you like answered by Ken Follett of his book, "Pillars of the Earth". I sent many questions. In early Jan 08 I received a phone call from Julie at Oprah to be in the audience at the end of Jan 08. I found out that I had to pay for the trip. I did not have the money so I said no. I called my brother Allan who said, "you cannot say NO to Oprah, get back online and get yourself invited I will pay for the trip and go with you to Chicago." So I went online and sure enough I received a second invitation. My brother and I met at O'Hare Airport where we stayed at the Palmer Hotel. I arrived the next morning at 6 am at Harpo Studios and was one of the first to be ready for the show. I cannot share what happens before the show except we had a really good time with Julie. During the last 5 minutes of the Book Club segment with Ken Follett I raised my hand to ask him a question about his involvement in literacy in England. I was so excited to talk to him. I am a novice writer who just is in awe of writers like Mr. Follett. My next big dream is to write a #1 Best Seller like Mr. Follett. Thank you Sandi, Tony, my brother Allan, Julie, Oprah and Ken Follett for making one of my biggest dreams come true. During my year of transformation, I used the techniques in my book "A Dream Is A Wish The Heart Makes". I thank God for the ability to let go, embrace my courage and expand in loving, accepting and flowing with what appeared to be blocks that returned to me a wish that was beyond my wildest dreams.
