Broken engine mount from a '03 Mazda3 with less than 50K miles, clunking since purchased Certified Used from Mazda of Escondido (CA). Even after dealer service was performed for a clunk up front, this break also caused a front strut to be destroyed!

  • It was probably already broken when he bought the car at the dealership, it had been clunking like that for quite some time.

  • Hi everybody ! I do have a 2006,Mazda 3 2.3L GT~S ! And same problem ! Really strong knock from front passenger side ! it's seems like big broblem in 3 series ! Anyway I did found the 3 pieces kit on amazon.com pretty cheap 120$

  • @thebunnis Hi there i have a Mazda3 07, the same problem!!! i have changed all the mounts but it keeps vibrating when i start and idle, did you got yours fixed?? Mines feels like its metal on metal pls let me know

  • The 3 wasn't made til '04. Your post says '03. I've come to realize that these cars are awesome, despite the motor mounts. Already replaced 2, and the 3rd is about to be replaced. I just hit 100k about 2 weeks ago :) They're easy to replace , and if you go to the right place, they're fairly cheap!

  • my mazda3 is a 2004 mazda3 hatch with about 120,000 miles on it and my motor mounts just failed. While driving, the car just started vibrating like crazy and was very loud. Turns out it was the motor mounts. I had my local mechanic fix it and now it is much better but on ignition it vibrates more than it used to and also sometimes at idle it vibrates. Why do you think this is?

  • A) Replace with a new stock mount

    B) Replace with a solid aftermarket mount (more vibration)

Don't worry about taking it anywhere. Read up on it and change it out yourself. Pretty easy job if you have the space and help.

  • I have a Mazda3 HB 05. And my I am hearing the same kind of noise like the other people post on the previous comments. I belief is the motor mounts are or one is broken. Does anybody know where I can buy really strong and great quality of motor mounts...??? Thanks..

  • The Mazda3 mounts aren't strong enough for the engine, according to mazda mechanic. If anyone else hasn't noticed this, while at a stop, rev the engine up to 2250 RPMs and see if you can feel the car start to vibrate, it only seems to do this right around 2250rpm, I found that a few different Mazda 3s did this. Took mine in a few times to Mazda for this vibration, they replaced one of the mounts but that didn't fix this it, at 90k miles now and it hasn't gotten worse or broke luckily

  • @whitesharkzero its 100% the mount get it fixed ASAP my mount broke today and now the car doesnt even start FML

  • you know it's bad when a dealership that is trained to work on the car can't even find the problem. that is why i don't trust anyone but, myself to look at my car.

  • I have a 2006 mazda 3 which has a clunking sound in the front passenger side when ever I get on a rough road and accelerate, also there is grinding noises when accelerating.

I have taken it to 2 local shops that can't pinpoint the noise.

think it could be the mount?
