I called John Edd Thomson this night to ask him why the lightening was teal, and he could not give me an explination and said he could not see it from where he was at. I'm so glad you got a good video of this!

sometimes lightning can take on different colors because of the presence pollution in the air. this would be my best guess as to why it was teal colored. also, it could have been the reflection of city lights on the low clouds. since you could only see the clouds when a bolt occured, you could assume that the actual bolt was colored. colored lighting isn't an uncommon occurrence. i'm a meteorology major at usa, so you have to forgive my nerdy response, hah.

That's cool, I've thought about taking a meteorology classes for some of my electives. What professor do you recommend?
