@461AmmoDog I'm willing to bet they're all MX officers.

My God...where was this video when I was attending maintenance meetings trying to explain why nothing in the squadron is working...brilliant video...this explains everything perfectly.

@scary35555 Why is it. that the lowly nobody on the flight line understands these things but these mofo in production and up just dont get it!!!

@101Maintenance The Moral Suppression Team is putting pressure on "ironpusher1" to stop speaking the truth!

@paetzhold This is how working on outdated aircraft works. You find a ripped gasket for instance. Any gasket from Lowes would work but by the book it has to be a certain part number. You discover the company contracted to make them shut down years ago. So the military contracts a new company to make it. This company knows nobody else makes this particular gasket so they charge hundreds for a part worth cents. Command gets mad at you for this even though supply is handled by a seperate command.

Whats sad is non military people and pilots dont quite get how true this video is....

@101Maintenance Thank you for saying this! They've put out surveys to find out why moral is low every 6 months and don't like the answers so they dump them. Then they want to force more programs down on us and wounder why it's not being C/W in a timely manner. Then they send out another survey to find out why moral is low again. Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over hoping to get a different or better results? I think the nuts are in charge of the nut house again!

I once was a maintainer and remember all of this while I was in the service. I am glad I went through all of those miserable experiences working on the flightline. It taught me resource management, theory of constraints, critical chain & critical path methods. I learned so much that I have made a career based upon managing capital and revenue based projects all over the world. Often people ask me where I got the skills to do what I do and I like telling them I used to be a AF crew chief.
