KDNL ABC30 News April 2001

This is the preshow/open from KDNL ABC30 in April of 2001.

Rick Edlund and Gina Kurre anchor the 10pm newscast. KDNL's news department was shut down a little more than 7 months after this broadcast. KDNL's last newscast (to date) was in October 2001.

Not the price of gas in the B-Roll video. This was after a cold snap in early spring of 2001.

Rick Edlund and Keryn Shipman now work at Tribune's KPLR CW11.

KDNL used yellow and yes, purple to good effect here. This was one of KDNL's best graphics/set designs.

and now Edlund got Fired from KPLR when Fox 2 took over the place... pretty much they need to rename CW11 news at 7 to Fox 2 news at 7. it's mostly stories you'd see on the 6PM news, or previews of stories on Fox 2 at 9 or the newsedge at 10.
