Brian Jaquet, Head of Communications for Roku, gives me a demo of their Roku streaming players. Roku players are renowned for their simplicity, variety of entertainment choices, and exceptional value. They just recently announced a partnership to offer the Hulu Plus service on all their players. TV lovers can watch every episode of more than 45 current hit program from ABC, FOX, and NBC like Modern family, Grey's Anatomy, Glee, Family Guy, The Office and 30 Rock. In addition, full series runs and and numerous back seasons of dozens of classic shows like the X-Files, Law and Order, Arrested Development, Saturday Night Live, Miami Vice, ugly Betty, Quantum Leap, Buffy, Angel, and Roswell.

In partnering with Roku, Hulu jois major partners inlcuding Netflix, Amazon video on demand, Pandora, MLB.tv, and Ultimate Fighting Championship.

The Roku HD streaming player ($59.99) delivers video in high definition and features built-in wireless and Ethernet for easy broadband connectivity anywhere in the home. Roku XD ($79.99) and XDS ($99.99) add 1080p HD support (delivered over HDMI) and extended-range wireless-N. In addition, the XDS model features dual band wireless-N and USB playback.

  • @Re5man you need a hdmi port if you want to stream HD content but it should work with any tv all you need is a video and audio ports, you know the ones u can find on VCRs(Red,White,Yellow)

  • We want to see samples of actual free programs shown on Roku... not some dude scrolling across the menu screen. There's nothing here to convince me to buy!

  • @celtic5764 channels like revision3 are free, however netflix and Hulu are subscription-only :)

  • @Re5man you need a HDMI-in port on the TV, apart from that you should be all set :)

  • Does this work with any kind of Television?

  • Now are there a monthly fee for different channels that are on Roku?

Thanks so much for your time.

  • I don't know, it probably eats up bandwidth quotas, eg) Comcrap cable internet has 200Gb monthly limit for residential; therefore, the Roku is kinda useless too, streaming takes tons of bites. Secondly, not sure how good the HD quality via internet, if it is not up to 1080p.

  • Get a PC.

  • i think this is awesome
