This is my first foray into videography using a Zoom Q3 digital videorecorder. I am the keyboard player for Capital jazz group, from Columbia, SC. This is an outdoor concert recorded on 4-2-10 at Morgan Square, Spartanburg, SC. Members of the band are Kyle Whitlock on Keyboard, Joe Miller on Trumpet, Robert Gardner on Saxophone, Bill Spangler on Bass, and Joey Henderson on Drums.

  • What piano are you using?

  • @ryancangri

Roland FP-4. Very happy with this piano!

  • Preemptor- Your point is well taken but take it from me-South Carolina summers are brutal and the last thing I'm gonna do as a keyboardist is to show up for a PUBLIC outside gig in a tuxedo, or even a suit. Ain't gonna happen! It's about the MUSIC... Hey did you even listen to the song?

  • oh yeah !! Great band interplay Kyle! (Fil)

  • @Dither199 I bet you are. It sounds very good.

  • you guys may want to take a cue from ellington and dress a little sharper next time...the old "duke" would be very proud to see you guys all decked out in hawaiian shirts and jeans and all....that is the one thing i demand of my musicians, you better dress well or no one will ever take you seriously, and why should they? step your game up guys, really!

  • Ah yes....

Very cool, pro level stuff - play-on...!

    -Quote: I dig Jazz, mostly.

  • Killer groove guys, played by an all-star rhythm section and tightly coordinated horns. Great solos all around. I had no idea the Q3 could do video this well! Nice venue too!

  • Nice groove! I actually played in a band with the bassist, Bill Spangler way back in the late '70's. I was the drummer in that band.

  • Groovin'
