On Christmas Eve 2009, Hillsdale United Methodist Church in Advance, NC became the first official sponsor of a child-headed household in Masoyi, South Africa by raising $6,000 to help a young man named David Mona. The funds were used to help build David a new cinder block home, provide for food and personal needs for an entire year, start a scholarship fund for David and help fund life skills classes for the children in his community. David's new home is now almost complete and he plans to move his younger cousins into the home for protection. David wants to eventually train to become a policeman. Thanks Hillsdale for helping him get started!

This is great that we have people who are willing to help like this. I am so glad for him. We need more kind people and organizations like this in the world. Hillsdale United Methodist Church is full of nice people (some in particular ^.^). I am so glad I had the chance to go to this church and will continue to try and do so.
