Downtown Kentwood..Hometown of Britney Spears..A real shame to see a once thriving community fall to the wayside..Building roof tops are caving in along the once busy city streets.

Some say that the stores didn't want to compete or offer a variety..I think that they actually did themselves in but there is a mall in McComb which has a Belk's, Sears, J.C. Penney and several other nice stores too..Yes, Wal-Mart is always a factor in the local business economy but you have to remember, sales taxes in Mississippi are cheaper than Louisiana too..

The area just outside of Detroit is pretty too, as is Baton Rouge and hundred's of other places....The video speaks for itself.....This is the REAL Kentwood.....Politics, lack of interest, motivation and money all took part in the death of Kentwood...What was once a great little town is nothing more than a wasteland..

From downtown, take Hwy. 38 East...Go to N.Lewiston Rd & turn left...It is the complex that is north of the pond with the double driveway to the west with a clearing to the east of the road...Security cameras are in use & dogs roam the property..

Unless you have never been to town for the past 10 years, you'd had better take a ride down main street....This is the north side of it....This was filmed over a year ago..It probably looks worse by now..

People paint a rosy picture of Kentwood because of Britney Spears..Maybe someone will see that video & understand that Kentwood has fallen by the wayside and could use some financial help in getting back on it's feet

Why don't people ever show thing like N. river Rd. or Lewiston or even on out 38 to Mt. Hermon.. This is not what all of kentwood looks like people.. This was mainstreet a long time ago but highway was built through K-town and Mainstreet was forgot about not 3 miles down the roud its beautiful countryside
