    You should not blame type 2 patients for eating poorly. I had a football coach, diagnosed with type 2, he was skinny as hell and played football almost everyday.

    Type 2 diabetes is due to insulin resistance or reduced insulin sensitivity. People increase their risk factor for Type 2 by poor eating habits. However, diet does not cause type 2. It is a mistake to blame the Type 2 population for their disease, and; frankly that attitude won't help promote an environment of increased awareness or understanding. Only when that is reached will there be more outcry to find a cure for all types of diabetes. This video is important for EVERYONE

    type 2 is caused by obesity, Type 1 is genetic... for those of you who say no then tell me how I became a type 1 as a kid, my older sister, my older brother, and my cousins on my dads side did?! They say that usually it skips a generation. It's caused by when your body sees your pancreas(that produces insulin) as foreign and attacks it until it's gone, hence the need for insulin shots.

    I cant beleive there are still people in the world that beleive diabetes is caused by the amount of sugar you eat! Do some reading before you sound like an idiot! Type 2 is mostly cause by weight issues and poor eating habits But can be caused by other things. Type one is a Genetic autoimmune disease that cannot be prevented. I have people tell me all the time I am diabetic because I eat to much sugar. I just tell them to go read a book or ask a doctor. Idiots.

    Spbeyond = Type One Diabetic

    That's only maybe at most 40 percent of type 2 cases of diabetes. ^0 percent of type 2 is hereditary, and type 1 is entirely non-preventable.

    Sort of like saying a hand-grenade in the middle of nowhere might cause 1 or 2 deaths, but a terrorist act in populated area would likely affect a MUCH more people. If caused by random VIRUS, would affect FEW people If population is pre-disposed to the condition, and practices diet & lifestyle activities that contribute, THEY'D likely suffer MORE incidence than those who developed a virus or other that destroyed their Insulin Producing cells while in another person, left those body cells alone.

    Very likely, a logical reason why Type 1 Diabetes only accounts for between 3 & 10% of ENTIRE USA Diabetic population. Last I heard, Type 1 Diabetes only was about 10% of world-wide Diabetic population. Seems to tell ME Type 2 has MORE contributing factors than Type 1 Diabetes.
