Haha do you mean in the harmonic minor scale? They strictly play to that scale... well they used to, I'm not sure about Nocturnal.
You can play Miasma and in some parts just substitute the actual harmonic minor scale in the solo and it runs smoothly.

I didn't realize that because someone does something different on an instrument it automatically becomes gay. Actually wrote it on guitar, but i was predominantly a bass player at the time, one who likes to play a lot of notes.
btw. bass is where its at, any guitar player can solo, but it takes a mean bassist to solo.

dude, i don't think that the black dahlia murder is an actual key. it wasn't bad though, it was kinda clean.

i know its not an actual key, but the name for the scale they use has an extremely awkward name, and to be honest it is very rarely used, it was quite prevalent in old (like old testament) hebrew music. Is what my instructor has taught me. But i don't know it, so i just basically wrote a solo, and gave it a name that is much easier to remember.
