@Halpin2006 While I'll concede that Dessler was an idiot, you obviously didn't pay attention to Starsha and Mamoru's characterizations in the original season
Though also judging by the way you use the dub names, it probably has to do with how it was translated. I'd suggest checking out the English subs of the first season to get a grasp on why she was determined to stay

Who worte this stupid story? Why were Starsha and Alex so stupid? Why was Desslok so idioitc? And why wouldn't Starsha setup some auto-destruct and escape with Alex? This story killed the entire Quest for Iscandar saga! No wonder it was such a flop, and never released to the USA directly! I am SO GLAD I never saw this back in 1982, and I am starting to now regret that I ever saw it at all!

Why Goruba tryed to destroy Iscandar? They should just kill Stasha and Mamoru.
And destroy Gamiras' ships and Yamato. If they do, They can mine Iscandarium deliberately.
