hi there, i just upgraded to lion, and i have a macbook pro 13" mid 2010 model. i always back up to time machine and I'm planning to upgrade my hard drive. my question is, if i already have installed the new hard drive, will it be able to restore from the back up of time machine or do i need to clone and boot from my old hard drive?

@ivan12541 The same way? I am not sure what your problem is :\ Just make sure your external harddrive is plugged in, put installation disc in and when you restart your computer hold down C to get you to this window.

@big1mitch Yes, as long as you have a Time Machine Backup on a separate drive (Internal or External)

can any one tell me, will this back up the full install of programs like FCP or photoshop? or does Time Machine only backup files and settings? I need to re-install snow leopard and I would rather not have to re-install everything individually.
