The Knigts of Columbus interviewed Fr. Tesfamarian Baraki, the pastor of the Ethiopian and Eritrean community in Washington about his Kidane-Mehret Ge'ez Catholic Parish. George Chapman PFN conducted the interview.
Your statements show very well that you don't know much about Aethioptic CATHOLICS. You should look up the origin of the Ge'ez Rite Catholics before making such statements. You probably would be very surprised. The Ethioptic Catholic Church was not started in the same way as the Coptic or the Greek.
I would love to explain it to you if you want to get past your ignorance.
The Ethiopian Catholics have preserved a more fundamental tradition--faithfulness to the Chair of Peter, the Apostle. It was this faithfulness to the successor of Peter led many former monophysites back to the true faith centuries ago.
If the Latin tradition of confirmation and communion later on is itself an authentic and holy tradition, then this is not a case of the Ethiopians destroying what is holy and replacing it with what is unholy.
The traditions witnessed in this Ethiopian Catholic Church are not authentic to their ancient tradition. They have succumbed to latinization, that is they have been infiltrated and copied certain latin church traditions, in particular they are giving confirmation and communion to youg adults refusing to give to babies. There are many other aspects where authentic ethiopian tradition has been destroyed here by Rome's "good will".
Either these errors are corrected or else they become Orthodox
