On July 4th, 2009 at 1:15 pm The Kosciusko Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on Shady Oaks Drive. Quick acting neighbors saw smoke coming from the home and called fire units. They also were able to enter the home and save the family pet. Firefighters arrived on scene to find the home with heavy smoke and flames engulfing the West end of the structure. Medics from MedStat Ambulance were on hand and treated firefighters that were overcome from the intense heat. Bystanders told KOL that the owners of the home were in Meridian visiting relatives at the time of the fire but were able to get in touch with them. The cause of the blaze is not known at this time. City Fire cleared the scene at 5:17 pm.
imho interior ops right off the bat would be a good "attack" I learned to NEVER shoot water INTO the vent hole. But this is not a knock on the department in the video. Don't know all the facts of the fire (2in2out...etc.)
