BEIJING, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao rode the Beijing metro system Wednesday to test the capital's transport preparations for the upcoming Olympic Games. Wearing a white sleeved shirt, he stepped onto a China Railways High-speed (CRH) train that shuttles between the Beijing South Railway Station and the neighboring Tianjin Municipality.

@kataklysm696 US is focus on cars, a HSR also need good mass transit and light rail to support and bring the people from the station to where they want to go, it is not a 1 shot deal. public transport in cities will also need to be enlarge which is why in this video, they also tour the metro and such.... it an entire network.

@mugshotesp I think the reason why US is far behind in the HighSpeedTrain Sector->your country was always very focused on aircrafts...makes sence @the great distances. But for shorter distances ->500Miles you have only advantages...no check in...no airport 15Miles out of the city...minimal emission
