Demonstrators in the Ukrainian capital protested President Viktor Yanukovych and endured his crackdown. Today, February 27 2014, Ukraine's parliament has approved Arseniy Yatsenyuk as the country's new prime minister.
Also today, unknown gunmen sympathetic to eastern Ukraine's Russian speaking population seized a government building in Crimea, which lies on the far side of the country from Kiev.
What sows revolution and counterrevolution? Is it disgust with cronyism and petty tyrants, or inspiration from upright self-rule and liberty? These are the ideas of a free society.
