We Want More John Munch

L&O: SVU isn't the same without Richard Belzer's John Munch in every episode. Are you missing your weekly dose of SVU snark? So am I! Here's how you can help bring him back to more episodes of the show. Please copy the link to this vid and SPREAD IT AROUND, because I'd appreciate your efforts in getting the word out about Belz's eps having been chopped. It's just not fair for NBC and Wolf Films to treat him this way, after all he's given to NBC, especially. Too many people are unhappy Chester Lake has been used to replace the Munch/Fin partnership, and it's our turn to speak up! Lake doesn't mesh with Fin Tutuola, Olivia Benson, Elliot Stabler, George Huang, Casey Novak or Don Cragen...and he certainly wouldn't have meshed with Alex Cabot. Let's get some balance back into this 'flavor' of Law & Order, shall we? (To all those Canadians out there, the Blue Rodeo song in this vid is one of my all-time favorites. Jim Cuddy is teh brilliant.)

You're right: Season 9 of SVU wasn't the same without him.. (He barely appeared!).

It's unfair they're cutting his episodes just because of the "age thing". (Honestly... Who cares about that?).

The fact is that he's an amazing detective who deserves a lot more time on screen!

These days, Belz is also a novelist and is working on the third in a series of his novels. The first one, out now, is called "I Am Not a Cop" and it's really very good.

However, I know we still want to see him on the show, so the online petition and the write-in campaign are both continuing. (He doesn't get to write all the time, because we want to see him on SVU more often! LOL!) ;)

i agree completely he brings the enthusiasm and sarcasm to the show that no one else can bring & age hasnt stopped other actors so they should not stop belz!!

I think BD Wong's character Dr. Huang AND Richard Belzer's characters are in too few eps. I think they two are just downright amazing, I love the rest of them but I miss Munch's histerical lines. It brings a bit of sarky funny into the show.

oh yeah and one other possibility.....#6 they cut down Belzer instead of Ice T because if they had cut Ice T then they run the risk of being called racist. The show definitely doesn't want that. So out of fear of seeming to be racist they kept Ice T and cut down on Belzer.....just guessing.

There could be several reasons Belzer's air times been cut. #1 budget cuts #2 it was a mutual agreement. #3 maybe NBC and/or Wolf actually did feel he was too old, #4 someone at NBC disagreed with Belzer's opinion on a certain topic and held it against him (Belzer appeared on Politically Incorrect and Howard Stern's show often). #5 he pissed someone off (4 & 5 could be one in the same). Its too bad because I actually liked the character on the show. He had a cool way about him.

munch got screwed in season 11 too...he was barely seen onscreen having only two or three scenes in the 15 episodes he appeared and he mostly worked as background action...what a shame...he deserves more but i doubt he'll get it....i hope to be proven wrong but i think he'll barely appear in season 12 too...

munch is that fuckin dude!! how can u not like my boy munch hes awesome. he deff needs to not only make more appearences but get involved in more action to. ik hes gettin a lil older but if u look at him u can see tht hes actually really damn healthy for his age. i wana see him make another arrest or sumthin

For an unusually Munch-heavy SVU episode, watch "Remorse" (Season 1 Ep 20). It gives Richard Belzer a chance to show what a great actor he can be when given the opporunity.

When they announced the season 10 finale was going to kill off someone I was seriously afraid it was going to be Munch. Sooooo glad it wasn't.
