Rutgers University Marching Band 1983 - Part 1

Here is the RU Band's "Star Wars/Space" show, the second of three shows that season -- a rare nighttime performance at the old Rutgers Stadium, on October 22, 1983. The band had learned this show just a few weeks before. Still, there were flag tosses, a drum solo, and even a drum major doing a backflip off the podium. Not bad for a band composed primarily of non-music majors. Here is the first song, Star Wars.

Right, you can't tell from this video, but we were s#!%-hot back in the day. REally. What a drum line. Sigh. Love the alien eye formation, and the ever-popular revolving rhombus!
