Herndon, Class of 2011

USNA class of 2011 climbs Herndon Monument, 15may2008, the culmination of their Plebe Year. The obelisk is coated with grease and a Plebe "dixie cup" blue rimmed sailors hat is removed from the top and replaced by an officer's cover. The class dedicated the climb to the memory of their classmate, Kristen Dickmann, (21st company) whose indominable spirit was an inspiration to anyone who knew her. Kristen's cover was placed on the top after 2hr35min. 6'6" Greg Reichel made the summit twice to get the hats exchanged. Music is Dreams by Van Halen. Go Navy, Beat Army!
