@DoBrigh it's from john thain, he was merrill lynch's former CEO. in the lehman brothers documentary the number he gave was 20-30 billion.

cannot imagine him being so "noble". funny they let lehman brothers fail, they could have just saved it with 30billion which would have most likely prevented the recession. and right after lehman failed they spend 700bil on bailout. as much i loved to see dick fuld get wut he deserves, it shouldn't be at the expense of the rest of the world. on another note, the upside is: they better start learning chinese real soon. wuahahah

thats what i dont get about the tea baggers they try to step to the other side saying there for values and family but in the end there just like everyone else wanting all this stuff but they dont want to pay for taxes or instituions. and when oil or gasiline is considerd dinasour fuil they shrug and say well thats reality live with it and grow up.why dont they just say live in denial and the past and throe the future in the can

I"m reading Dollar Meltdown by Charlie Goyette. One Paulson quote he uses is where Paulson remarks how the USA has humiliated itself. Perhaps Paulson does realize the end has arrived but doesn't have the guts to say it publicly.
