  • what why would you give a deaf person 10p when they cannot use the phone

  • I tried a variation on the last one the other day.

I went up to a girl and shouted 'I'M DYING OF AIDS' at her.

    I didn't pull.

  • @SoberStones I guess it depends. My parents, my mother being profoundly dead and my father being partially both attended a deaf only boarding school and as a result learnt basic ASL alongside BSL. My Dad is still proud of the fact that nearly over 30 years on he can sign the alphabet in ASL. He has lost all the other words but the alphabet is here to stay.

  • i love that last one, "i've got 3 months to live." brilliant lol

  • @nazilampshade maybe not a universal sign langauge - Deaf people in Sri Lanka using the same signs as people in Tanzania.

But it would be cool if countries speaking the same languages used the same sign language i.e; English speaking countries; England, America, Australia etc having the same sign language.

I am not deaf - so I don't know (correct me if I am wrong) I assume that a communication with a deaf english person and a deaf american person would only be through lip reading.

  • @allarmsfall same. and very deep.

  • I have three months to live????? LMFAO FUCK YEAH!

  • just no... pure no.

  • there really should be a universal sign language, i think.

asl and bsl are quite different.

  • I would

  • @userdetails1 I'm learning BSL level one and the instructor said although there are regional variations signing an M on your temple is the standard English/London variant of "mother" so we were taught that way, though I have often seen it signed on the palm online.

  • LMAO! go phone your mum your not coming home tongiht :P LMAO ohhh that gave me a good laugh!!
