Actress and author Portia de Rossi talks about her new memoir "Unbearable Lightness" and sits down with Oprah for a candid conversation about a secret that nearly killed her: a battle with an eating disorder anorexia. She also talks about coming out as a lesbian, her life today with wife Ellen DeGeneres and taking her last name.

  • God, please send me my love relationship like that...soon. I need it. please..... amen. :(.

  • When she says, "You're not crazy anymore", Oprah was referring to a part of the epilogue in Portia's book "Unbearable Lightness". The epilogue describes a conversation Ellen and Portia had after Portia had written her book and let Ellen read it. Ellen says, and I quote: '"Baby" she says sleepily, "You were crazy" And then a little later in the conversation, she says, "Just be sure and tell the people that you're not crazy anymore."

Oprah isn't insensitive. You're just ignorant.

  • So deeply inspiring. Thank you, Portia.

  • Portia is a lovely woman, i love the fact that Ellen and Portia found each other <3!

  • We all should just stop the dieting and weightloosing and start the living! And accept ourselves and others for what we really are. if you look in the mirror and see healthy, that's all that should matter, really.

    Loving someone can't be wrong

  • I don't understand how anyone could watch this and say homosexuality is wrong and that gay marriage should not be legal.

  • Oprah does what she wants. Because Oprah can. Power to Oprah! No picky, nagging, narrow-minded viewer and no amount of hate mail is ever going to dissuade her from reaching her goal. If she thinks it can help millions, she'll deal with it, and damnit, if that subject is homosexuality, she's not the one who's gonna shut up and back down.

  • Wow i can so relate to this woman! I am a model and struggle with body issues as well, i'm on a diet right now for australian swimwear model of the year and miss galaxy and i triple hate it now! I teared up when she was with her horse, i also ride horses and whenever im feeling really down i go cry to my horse and his unconditional love brings me right back up again! I'm also from australia and an aspiring actress! I'm not gay though but i already have a crush on Portia! :D

  • @Booklvr777 He doesn't hear you.Cuz he doesn't exist.

Create your own happiness. If you will wait for god or someone else to do it for you

    when you will wait forever

  • interesting bc both oprah and portia have had these public struggles with food, just like so many other women, but they seem so different from each other you would never know they share this struggle...

  • What an amazing woman and it seems that both of them (Ellen and Portia) are incredible people...so sincere and human! Full of love and experience. I wish people would look past the whole "lesbian" thing and see them for the human beings that they are. Yes they're lesbians BUT above all they're HUMAN BEINGS! People can be so ignorant. This was a great show!

  • Amanda means "worthy of love" :)
