Do you think you could possibly make a coiled boom pole (XLR is inside the boom pole)? I hate having to coil the wire on the pole itself, and then I saw one with the wire inside but alas it is quite expensive.
Is that even possible with a light bulb changer?

Anything's possible, but I've never liked cord-inside boom poles. The commercial versions I've used rattle too much for my liking.

Does the 3/8 in. to 5/8 in. adapter work with any standard clip, or do I need to get the exact same clip?

I am definitely going to make this. Your tutorials are very helpful -- especially with those with no budget (as according to Ryan of FilmRiot)

Thanks for the info!
I guess in reality I just hate having my boom ops having to wrap the XLR around the pole over and over, I've read that zip-ties are good solutions for that, however I can't imagine that doing any good especially when you have to extend the pole.

Can you show how to build a DIY version of the audio recorder shock mount...online shopping is a bitch in my country, thanks! Your videos have been a revelations for a budding filmmaker (like myself) from a 3rd country.
