Shiv Tandan, a 19 year old university student from the National University of Singapore from Haryana, India produced "The Guide" and won the 18-25 category. This film tackles pre-conceptions about faith head on using humour; the tour guide takes a visitor on a tour through a mosque in India, giving insights into Islam and its history and it is not until the last scene it is revealed that the guide is in fact a Hindu. He calls for the audience to seek more than religious tolerance and for society to embrace other faiths and cultures.

We are looking into a guided tour of a mosque, given by a rather enthusiastic guide. The camera focuses onto the ornate entrance of the mosque; the guides excited, proud voice is speaking animatedly of the architecture and history that the building is heaped in. He explains in detail the beauty, and many intricacies of the Islamic religion embodied in the various chambers of the mosque. The camera bounces along in and out of the rooms and follows whatever the guide points out, its focus rapidly shifting and adjusting, blurring and sharpening in sync with the guide's leading words much like a persons eyes. It seems to be asking questions too, which the guide answers with pleasure and great knowledge. The guide, who still hasn't been, then finally recites some verses from the Koran as the group exits the mosque, symbolic of the revelation about to come...
When the group comes out then, for the first time, the guide comes into the picture. Standing in front of the green backdrop of the mosque, he is wearing the orange garb of a Hindu priest, and has a long, graying beard: he is a typical Hindu priest, the likes you'd find conducting rituals on the banks of the river Ganges, incongruous in the mosque.
Finding the camera upon him, he merely says, My faith teaches me not just to tolerate, but to accept, and love. He folds his hands, smiling at the camera, which fuzzes out of focus again, into a blur of green and orange.
