@kljMN2 I think it's a defensive reaction after US 2004 QF agains Capriati when she was screwed over by line's people and the umpire who were calling her shots out when they were clearly in and some of Capriati's shots were called in when they were out.The umpire was dismissed for her actions and Serena received official apology, but I believe it's still in her mind and she's on defensive each time she plays US Open now. She feels she is being attacked again.

I wonder why in the past two US Opens Serena has participated in she's had outbursts... 2009 and 2011. I wonder if it is a case of nerves or what. I'm not going to criticize her for it because there have certainly been FAR worse tantrums or outbursts than Serena..... namely, John McEnroe!
