This is such a joy to watch - again and again. John Howard created Australian political history by becoming only the second serving Prime Minister to lose his own Seat (Bennelong, in Sydney's northern suburbs) in the 2007 Federal Election. The sweetest defeat of all!

  • I remember these moments - "swing to the ABC", Gillard becoming more happily radiant as the night went on, the cheers amongst my mates watching at home, the sensation of a vile poison being lifted from the land. Goodbye to the Rodent, don't fucking come back.

  • Watching John Howard's concession speech was the happiest moment of my life ... I never thought I would be wanting John Howard back now that we are confronted with the possibility of Abbott being Prime Minister :S

  • A swing to the abc arr err alp... well lets face it they are the same thing anyway

  • lol we kicked her out of that seat 3 years later

F.T.I i saw on 2007 election chaser, the chaser were in there holding up signs that says"cheer" "it makes kerry feel important"

  • lol, I hope she enjoyed it while it lasted.

  • @matt1784 When you think about the fact that Britain has something like 43 million more people than Australia, it does make a little more sense

  • @matt1784 thats just our Federal Parliament, all up if you add all of the possible constituent seats in the country you end up with 824 seats, however they are elected by different methods all over the country

  • i never realised the aussie parliament was so small in terms of numbers of MPs. Makes the UK one seem bloated at 650 approx. At least that is being cut by 50 though

  • is this anything to do with the chaser? HAHA

  • @SirFinbarr they won't as it is they do have Abbott as their leader
