John Howard loses his Seat - and the Election

This is such a joy to watch - again and again. John Howard created Australian political history by becoming only the second serving Prime Minister to lose his own Seat (Bennelong, in Sydney's northern suburbs) in the 2007 Federal Election. The sweetest defeat of all!

Watching John Howard's concession speech was the happiest moment of my life ... I never thought I would be wanting John Howard back now that we are confronted with the possibility of Abbott being Prime Minister :S

@matt1784 thats just our Federal Parliament, all up if you add all of the possible constituent seats in the country you end up with 824 seats, however they are elected by different methods all over the country

i never realised the aussie parliament was so small in terms of numbers of MPs. Makes the UK one seem bloated at 650 approx. At least that is being cut by 50 though
