I use a backhand-oriented grip as well and my forehands end up looking the same.
The advantage is however, that you get a better feeling for the elbow snap and so Zhang Jike's loops sacrifice speed for spin, which is why you need good torso accelleration to compensate.

Somehow I find Zhang's forehand kinda ugly, maybe have something to do with his backhand oriented grip...
Ma Long's forehand motion looks more complete and aesthetic...
Nothing related to technique...just how it looks...
