An arrangement of Robert de Visee's Suite Royalle in Dm. Originally for Lute/Theorbo. Performed on an Italian styled triple harp, built by the performer. My apologies for the sound gap at the begining of the mascarade.

  • excellent transcription and interpretation, (theorbo player). did you made the transcription from Saizenay ms. ? or 1716 mise en partition by de Visée?

  • To be honest I can't remember exactly what the sources are... except to say its a combination of the treble/bass edition with a few bits and pieces borrowed from the theorbo/lute tabs.... sorry I'm not able to be more helpful!

  • Wonderful arrangement (and I play the lute and guitar)!

  • Thanks, hopefully more Devisee is on the way. Well its on the music stand at least :-)

  • thanks :-)

  • I play this suite on the theorbo, and I love this arrangement and performance. Thanks!

  • the mascarade and the chaconne is my favorite part

  • beautyful, xavier

  • Last week, I was listening to the African Cora and found myself in the midst of those ravishing sounds that look much similar than the one conveyed by this specific Harp.

    Thank you for your interpretation.

  • There are many more DeVisee tablatures than just Saizenay, though.

  • never mind, i wish you the best.

the tab is from the saizenay ms. (1699)

thetreble/ bass ed. is from robert de visée mis en partitioon (1716).

  • Loved the trills. Beautiful interpretation of this piece. I like the sound of this form of harp. It reminds me of the paraguayan and venezuelan harp music I listened to as a child. Not in the form of composition but in the timbre of the instrument.
